COURSE OUTLINE:
This carbine course is designed to increase the skill level of the
experienced shooter. The course will consist of approximately 1 hour
instruction on firearm safety, the safe and correct way to handle and
operate your carbine on and off the range, and a quick recap on the
must-haves of rifle marksmanship. The initial instruction will be
followed by 13 hours of challenging drills that involve a variety of
shooting positions, distances, and target types. Drills will be performed
from multiple positions, from standing to different types of ground work
and barrier use. These drills are designed to improve accuracy and
speed. Upon completion of this course the student will have a thorough
understanding of firearm safety, firearm operation, and the ability to
engage multiple targets both static and on the move.
Course Objective: The student will achieve a high level of confidence
in the safe handling and operation of their carbine with a substantial
improvement in accuracy and speed of target engagement.
Enabling Objectives:
• General firearms safety
• Safe loading, unloading, and the proper clearing procedures
• The must-haves of rifle marksmanship
• Reloading and malfunction drills
• Proper presentation to the target
• Speed drills
• Multiple shots and multiple targets
• Moving and shooting drills
• Shooting and moving from cover (barrier drills)
• Kit considerations and techniques, slings, and equipment placement
Ammo requirements (Student Furnished): 1500 rounds of rifle
ammunition per person.
Prerequisite (one of the following):
• Successful completion of Gamut Resolutions two day introduction to Tactical Carbine and Pistol course
• Active Law Enforcement SWAT team member or equivalent (must be able to prove)
• Retired military personnel with Special Ops background (must be able to prove involvement)
