Introduction to Firearms Course

The introduction course introduces students to the world of firearms.  Through this course, the student will learn the basic knowledge of firearms and their operation, ammunition, gun safety, and shooting fundamentals. Students will be introduced to pistol, rifles and shot guns in this course.  

Note: Students will not fire any live ammunition during this course.

Course Fees: $50 Duration: 4hrs  

The NRA Basic of Pistol Shooting certification Course

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. Students will take both the NRA Basic of Pistol Shooting written exam as well as the live fire exam.  Student’s live fire exam will be taken on the NRA Basic Pistol Achievement Target. The Basic Pistol Course will also help prepare the student for participation in other NRA courses as well as the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Course. Course Fees: $100.00 Duration: 8hrs

Active Duty Military SC CWP Course

The Active Duty MIL SC Concealed Carry permit course is for all Active Duty MIL who want or need to carry a concealed handgun for their personal or family’s safety. Students will receive the necessary training and instruction needed to obtain their SC Concealed Carry Permit (CWP). Students are required to take and pass the CWP written exam with a passing score of 70% or higher. Upon successful completion of the written exam students will conduct a live fire qualification with their personal handgun. Students most hit 35 out of 50 shots on a standard B27 target. Students who fail to meet the standard on their written exam or handgun qualification will not be awarded their certificate of completion. Note: *You must be 21 years of age to enroll in this course*.

Course Fees: Free for Active Duty and Retired Military (With Valid ID). Duration: 8hrs Note: A fee of $50 must be sent along with your permit application to the State of South Carolina (SLED). This is a separate fee that is paid directly to SLED. This Fee is in addition to your course fees.

South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Course

The SC Concealed Carry permit course is for all South Carolina citizens who want or need to carry a concealed handgun for their personal or family’s safety. Students will receive the necessary training and instruction needed to obtain their SC Concealed Carry Permit (CWP). Students are required to take and pass the CWP written exam with a passing score of 70% or higher. Upon successful completion of the written exam students will conduct a live fire qualification with their personal handgun. Students most hit 35 out of 50 shots on a standard B27 target. Students who fail to meet the standard on their written exam or handgun qualification will not be awarded their certificate of completion. Note: *You must be 21 years of age to enroll in this course*.

Course Fees: $75 per Individual. Duration: 8hrs Note: A fee of $50 must be sent along with your permit application to the State of South Carolina (SLED). This is a separate fee that is paid directly to SLED. This Fee is in addition to your course fees.

Introduction to Concealed Carry and Defensive Handgun course.

The introduction to concealed carry course is for students who have already successfully complete the South Carolina Concealed Weapons (CWP) course with our company. Students will learn proper carrying techniques, holster selection, and ammunition selection.  Students will learn how to properly draw their pistol from the conceal carry position as well as how to deploy their firearm in a close quarter’s situation.  Our introduction to conceal carry class is meant to push you to the next level through problem base shooting sequences that make you must think through every detail of your training. Students who sign up for this course will be challenged at the highest level. You will leave confident in your ability to face any threat. Train for the worst with the best, Champion Defense L.L.C.
